how to upgrade an existing Windows 10 installation to Windows 11 for unsupported hardware
I'll be performing this upgrade on a asus rog strix h670 which does not have a supported CPU, no TPM nor secure boot. This is possible by combining the Windows 10 installer with the Windows 11 installation files.
METHOD 1
1. Download Windows 10 and Windows 11
Windows 10
Windows 11
To change to another language, just replace en-us to fr-fr or any other language in order to download your Windows ISO.
I will recommend
ULTRA ISO
2. Make a new folder on your Desktop and name it WindowsUpgrade.
3. Search for Windows 10 Installation ISO.
4. If u already installed UltraISO just right click and mount it to the spec letter so u can see all files as virtual dvd.
5. Extract all files from Windows 10 Installation to the folder u created before WindowsUpgrade.
6. Go to your mounted virtual dvd E: for example and right click to EJECT the virtual DVD.
7. Now it is the moment to mount Windows 11 Installation ISO.
8. Open sources folder from Windows 11 installation ISO and search for install.wim(or install.esd) and extract to WindowsUpgrade/sources folder where is install.esd or install.wim. (You can replace install.esd or install.wim with the same from Windows 11. U can't now have both at the same time.)
9. Now u can eject any Windows 11 Installation Virtual DVD.
10. Open your WindowsUpgrade folder and hit the SEPTUP to start your installation. Please do not choose for update.
That's all folks.
METHOD 2
1. Make a virtual DVD from Windows 11 installation files.
2. Make a new folder on your Desktop and name it WindowsUpgrade
3. Extract all files from Windows 11 Installation to the folder u created before WindowsUpgrade.
4. Eject your Windows 11 installation Virtual DVD.
5. Open WindowsUpgrade/source from your desktop folder and at this point we need to replace the appraiserress.dll file( this file is located in the sources folder and it is responsible for the hardware check) with the one I attacheded to download.
Now u can start your Upgrade Installation. Please let me know how you managed to do it.
PS: DO NOT CHOOSE FOR UPDATE OPTION WHEN U ARE GOING TO INSTALL WINDOWS!!!
That's all folks!
